I came across another spanish Interview from the 'Invisible Hour' Tour.
It was an interview for Radio Gladys Palmera.
It's dubbed in spannish, so many thanks to my friend Laura for helping me to translate.
The interview has a little background on how Joe came to Trixie Whitley for the Fleetwood mac tribute album called just tell me that you want me .
The song Trixie brings on this album is called Before the Beginning. Joe produced it. He says she's
incredible ! her father (Chris Whitley) was a good friend of his, they had worked
together.
(Chris Whitley played on Joe's album fuse.)
After
her father died he never saw Trixie again.
Then he was in New York,
producing Marianne Faithfull for the fleetwood mac tribute album. He was
in a taxi, going to Marianne's studiosession, and he
wondered if Trixie would be around. He thought she would sound
great singing with Marianne. He phoned her, and she wanted to do it. She sang beautifully together with
Marianne Faithfull.
The project coordinator loved it and suggested that
Trixie should have her own song in the album too. It was the first time
that he saw her again since she was nine.

Live news
I lived a bit on a rollercoaster last week. But it's so much fun. This morning I had some time to relax a bit with a fine cup of coffee, and see if there is some interesting JH news around.
And yes, there is. And some of it is regarding live performances. I'll group them here.
First of all
The official website announced 3 new 'Invisible Hour' tour dates.

January 19, 2015 : Chicago
January 20, 2015 : Louisville

Acoustic Cafe
from the tennessean
The ever-prolific Henry played a few typically insightful and brooding tunes from his new Invisible Hour album, as well as fielding several questions from Reinhart concerning the recent release of the Henry-produced Look Again to the Wind: Johnny Cash’s Bitter Tears Revised.
The show will be broadcasted later this fall. Acoustic Cafe airs in Nashville from 10 am-noon Sundays on WRLT-FM (100.1)

Americana awards show available soon
Looking at a picture on the americana music association's website, Joe also performed in a (how to put it ?) an 'all star performance' maybe ?
also : PBS will broadcast an edited version of the show as an Austin City Limits special, ACL Presents: Americana Music Festival in November, 2014
From an article on engine145.com I conclude that the 'all star' band played 'Get Rythm' by Johnny Cash.
Lots of pictures of the City Winery show together with Rodney Crowell, Laura Cantrell, Grant-Lee Phillips & Robyn Hitchcock.
From Blurtonline
.....The newly christened City Winery, opened mere days before, was the site for solo sets by Joe Henry and Robyn Hitchcock, both of whom held the crowd wowed and rapt throughout. The beauty of Henry’s intimate compositions was countered by Hitchcock’s off kilter psychedelia.....

Reviews
The Sydney Morning HeraldSecrets? Henry's literal thrust can be deeply shrouded, even among the vivid images of blood-lusty angels and sliding bombardiers in a tune called Plainspeak.

MusiCares
From the LA Times's Pop and Hiss
The idea is that rather than be deluge in near-freezing water, musicians and music fans should take a photo of themselves holding a favorite LP ("one that has made or makes your life better," DeSavia says), donate $5 or more to MusiCares and post the photo to social media using the hashtag #MusiCaresChallenge. Then challenge three friends, or any of the musicians involved in the chosen album, to do the same.
So far, participants include singer-songwriter Sam Phillips, who is photographed with a copy of “The Best of Slim Harpo,” Joe Henry (Thelonious Monk's "Criss-Cross"), Rhett Miller (David Bowie's "ChangesTwo"), Kevin Griffin (Neil Young’s “Harvest”), Richard Edwards of Margot & the Nuclear So and So’s (“The True Story of Abner Jay”) and DeSavia, who kicked off the effort with a copy of X’s “Under the Big Black Sun.”
About musiCares :
MusiCares provides a safety net of critical assistance for music people in times of need. MusiCares' services and resources cover a wide range of financial, medical and personal emergencies, and each case is treated with integrity and confidentiality. MusiCares also focuses the resources and attention of the music industry on human service issues that directly impact the health and welfare of the music community.
I love music, and musicians. So I also supported.
